Yellow

These two prints grew from the same yellow plate. They both involve experiments using paper stencils to mask off portions of the plate so that the brayer can be used to roll ink on in specific shapes.

Ooh, I love the sloth. And the yellow. Heidi, I've really enjoyed seeing your monotypes. And let me know if you decide to decide you might sell that sloth print...

Thanks Amy. I keep thinking of you when I'm printing. It feels like it would be a great process for illustration. In fact, I'm thinking of doing a project on grandparents in black and white monotypes. Maybe you need to come to SF for a week and use the press.

The sloth was Jon's birthday present, but I saved the stencil to make one for another friend who's a sloth fan. I can certainly make two. I'll probably do a whole series of animals. Any requests?

If making two sloths wouldn't be a pain, that would be great. Just let me know details. Hmm, I'll have to think about animal requests. What a fun project! Maybe I do need to come to SF the see the press (love the idea of mixing art and travel).
