Canyonlands

Canyonlands National Park. 40"x60". Small study pictured above in the earliest shots.

Lake Mead

I started this painting on Monday, and this is two days worth of work. At the bottom is my palette while working on the sky. This one is a long and narrow 30"x60". Lots more to do on the land and water.

Capitol Reef

Progress shot. 34"x56"

Eucalyptus

72'x56". The bottom photo is the 20"x16" study that inspired the large painting.

Hoover Dam progress shots

Here's the progression over the past few weeks. This painting is 72"x56". As always, please excuse the exaggerated color of the crappy iPhone photos. Still a lot to do on this one...

Trace monotype

When it did finally rain here in December, it was too dark to paint, so I made lots of prints.

Waterfall

More drypoint

Four prints and the drypoint plate before I inked it. This one is the Hoover Dam.

Lake Mead prints

Some drypoint prints done using a cardboard plate (instead of metal or plastic). This one involved four plates per side, the drypoint plate and three color plates. The bottom print shows why "measure twice, cut once" taken too far causes all kinds of problems. My first print of the day, it's backwards and reversed in more ways than I can even explain.

Some work in progress

In case you think the lack of post meant I had not been painting...
